Welcome Letter from Your Governor

Dear Admitted Students of USF St. Petersburg,

Congratulations on your admission to our wonderful campus! My name is David Nguyen and I have the honor of serving as the Campus Governor of USF St. Petersburg. Alongside me, Elise Prophete serves as our dedicated Lieutenant Governor. We are thrilled to welcome you to our campus community and cannot wait to meet you all! 

As leaders of Student Government, Elise and I want to introduce you to the vibrant and dynamic student body here at USF St. Petersburg. Our mission is to advocate for student interests, enhance campus life, and foster a sense of unity among our diverse student population. We work tirelessly to address student concerns, improve campus facilities, and create opportunities for student involvement in campus decision-making.

We are honored to have you as valuable contributors in planning for the future of the university. As your representatives, we serve as your voices on campus. Therefore, change is only possible through your engagement with student government. 

Actively participating in student organizations and campus events is essential to the feeling of community that USF St. Petersburg fosters. The opportunities that the campus offers are innumerable and getting involved will broaden your college experience. You’ll find your place as you partake in student organizations that interest you. For bulls who love water activities on the bay the Sailing Club or the Fishing Club would be perfect for you.

As incoming bulls, be on the lookout for exciting events like our famous Cardboard Boat Race and Late-Night breakfast before finals. You’ll have no trouble finding courses with excellent professors to teach them. The students you will meet are incredibly diverse and helpful towards each other.

Our goals for the upcoming year include improving campus sustainability efforts, promoting representation and community, and advocating for student needs in university policy-making.
