The historic John C. Williams House will undergo major restorations and upgrades thanks to a $280,640 matching grant from the Florida Division of Historical Resources. The upgrades will include foundation work, a new roof, hurricane panels and other repairs that will help ensure the structure’s safety and stability during a major storm.

Biology professor who made midlife career change gives $1 million estate gift to USF St. Petersburg campus
Deby Cassill credits the USF St. Petersburg campus with giving her the opportunity to explore her passion for science, trading in a nearly 20-year career in health care to become a biology professor. Now she is providing the institution with a $1 million estate gift to aid the next generation of aspiring biologists.
The University of South Florida welcomes the Tampa Bay area to attend Homecoming Week celebrations, Oct. 9-15. Participants can join students, alumni, faculty and staff in dozens of events across all campuses, including a concert, carnival, parade and the USF football game.
From submersible “pickup trucks” to “flying research labs,” hurricane monitoring programs and the data gathered are helping modelers at USF College of Marine Science and other institutions better understand our oceans and predict the strength and path of tropical systems.
