Before USF St. Petersburg, merchant marines trained for World War II on campus grounds
Eighty years after World War II ended in Europe, we look back at the U.S. Maritime Service Training Station that once stood on campus grounds. The facility trained 25,000 merchant marines who provided critical logistical and transportation support for the war effort.
