Summer program introduces the world of research to undergraduate students
A group of undergraduate students from USF is spending the summer building valuable research and career skills while receiving compensation for their efforts. The Summer Academy for Investigative Learning program provides students with an early, hands-on introduction to research and showcases impactful work taking place across Tampa Bay.

Honors students explore sustainability and culture on study away trip to Hawaii
Ten USF students recently returned from an unforgettable educational adventure on Hawaii's Big Island, where they hiked lava fields, made chocolate from fresh cacao pods and learned about environmental restoration in a cloud forest. As part of the Judy Genshaft Honors College's study away program, they explored the island's natural beauty and cultural history.

Key support for USF included in this year’s state budget
Funding for institutional priorities and important university projects is included in the 2025-26 state budget, including $10 million for the Environmental & Oceanographic Sciences Research and Teaching facility and $1 million for the Eileen Hoffman Hafer UMatter Program. It will be sent to Gov. Ron DeSantis for his review, approval and line-item veto consideration.
