“I am so pleased to be able to continue my husband Bob’s work on the Campus Board. I hope my experience as a local government attorney, law professor, nonprofit board member as well as my work with a private municipal finance law firm will enable me to contribute to the Board’s successful track record serving the students in our community,” said Churuti.

She has broad experience representing the county and its constitutional officers. Her expertise includes U.S. and state constitutional law, legislation, charters, eminent domain, elections, risk management, public construction, public finance, utilities and procurement, as well as litigation and appellate practice. She is proficient in board representation, serving as general counsel for more than 50 boards, commissions and special districts. She served for a long tenure as the attorney for the Pinellas County Legislative Delegation drafting local bills and special acts.

“I am delighted to have my colleague and longtime friend, Susan Churuti, join the USFSP Campus Board,” said Stephanie Goforth, chair of the USFSP Campus Board and member of the USF Board of Trustees. “Her extensive background and professional experience will be an asset to the board, to USF St. Petersburg and to the community.”

The USFSP Campus Board provides guidance and advisement on the efficient operation and improvement of the university. Churuti joins current board members Stephanie Goforth, Judy Mitchell, John Connelly and Lawrence Hamilton.

The next meeting of the USFSP Campus Board is scheduled for Monday, April 30 at 9:30 a.m. in the University Student Center Ballroom.
