TRAININg & WorkShop Topics

The Wellness Center is also committed to provided the following trainings for USF St. Petersburg student groups and organizations as well as faculty and staff groups or departments.  We can also provide customizable trainings to fit your specific needs. 

Opioid Overdose Recognition and Response

The Opioid Overdose Recognition and Response training teaches the signs of an overdose and how to respond. Attendees will learn how nalaxone works and how to use multiple nalaxone delivery methods. This training is available to all student, faculty, and staff who are interested in being able to better serve the campus community. The training program can be offered to groups of anywhere from 5-25 participants.

Learning Outcomes: At the end of this training, participants will be able to: 

  • Recognize and respond to an opioid overdose, using multiple naloxone products
  • Explain different ways to obtain naloxone in Florida
  • Define Florida’s Naloxone Law and Good Samaritan Law

Time:  15-30 minutes depending on breadth of focus.
