Why Marine Biology?
Learning at USF St. Petersburg
Professor and deep sea researcher Heather Judkins knows that marine biology allows students to explore, discover and become fascinated with organisms they’ve never even heard of!
She also knows marine biology is more than just animals. Marine biology majors can find careers as computer programmers, engineers and much more – there’s something for everybody.

Potential Internships and Careers
A catastrophic coral bleaching event gave Min Min Kelly her first real-world experience at her internship with Reef Renewal USA. During her time with the Florida Keys based organization, she was able to take part in outplanting, growing and monitoring coral.
Her internship really opened her eyes to what is possible with her major.
