Why Graphic Arts?

Learning at USF St. Petersburg

Professor David Watts is the chair of the graphic arts program. He loves teaching his graphic interface class that focuses on UX front-end web development and experimental design. When not in the classroom, you can catch him at the library or Banana Vinyl’s.

He also notes that the Graphic Arts department has a 95% in-field employment rate for graduates!

Potential Internships and Careers

Graphic design classes at USF St. Petersburg expose students to real client work and professional opportunities before they graduate — just ask Heidi Hicks.

Hicks and her classmates received an assignment from Tampa Bay business Joffrey’s Coffee to create a design for coffee packaging inspired by German Streusel Coffee Cake. She submitted her design, which was posted on the company’s website for public voting. Hicks’ submission was selected and put on the coffee packaging!
