What is WOW?

Week of Welcome (WOW) provides each student an opportunity to start the semester off right with signature programs and engaging activities. All programs and activities are designed to help you meet new people and get connected with the St. Petersburg campus community. Programs are hosted by a variety of offices to get you connected and learn more about what our campus has to offer! We are here to help you chart your path to success.

Welcome Mixer | 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM |USC Ballrooms

Welcome to the USF St. Petersburg campus! This mixer will give you the chance to meet other bulls and learn how to get involved on campus.

3:00 PM-4:00 PM: Peer Coach Reveal: Can we get a drumroll? The wait is over - it's time to find out who your Peer Coach is! During one of our favorite Week of Welcome traditions, you'll be able to connect with your PC and other first-year students. Your PC will be your go-to person for all things USF, so don't miss this chance to meet your newest BFF.


4:00 PM-6:00 PM: PRIDE FEST: Join #OneOMA for a fun afternoon and evening dedicated to celebrating Pride and the LGBTQ+ community! First, we hope you will join us for some fun activities, snacks, and a chance to get to know some of your peers as well as the Office of Student Life and Engagement! Then, at 6pm, we will begin walking down towards the St. Pete waterfront for the St. Petersburg Pride Fest Picnic and Fireworks show (Fireworks are slated to begin at dusk or around 8:30pm - 9pm).

#HowToCollege: Mastering Canvas & Decoding Your Syllabi |7:00 PM - 8:00 PM | Teams Link

With the first day of the summer semester just one day away, it's time to Get Ready for Classes! Join us at 7pm to learn more about how to utilize Canvas and decode your course syllabi to maximize your success and start the semester strong.

Welcome (or welcome back) to USF! Whether this is your first time in college or you're returning, check out the Wellness Center's Let's Talk Program. Let’s Talk is a brief, informal consultation for you to ask questions and talk about your concerns in durations of up to 20 minutes. Even as vaccines become more available and our beloved activities and spaces open back up, the change in daily life, re-integration into campus, and college adjustment can be difficult to manage. This summer we invite you attend Let’s Talk as a way to share your thoughts on these topics or any others that are important to you. Let's Talk will be available from 1:00-1:30 PM Monday-Friday beginning Monday June 28th and for the duration of Summer B via Zoom. HAB Grab-and-Go| 12:00 PM -2:00 PM | Harborwalk

Join Harborside Activities Board (HAB) in front of Harborwalk (USC) on June 29th from 12-2pm to pick up free items such as T-Shirts, cups, and more in highlight of our Hang with HAB event happening later this afternoon from 4-5pm! We will be playing small minigames that everyone can vote on to have the opportunity to win some prizes while making friends.

Come check various key offices/departments around USF St. Petersburg campus and be the judge of our decorations and bull spirit contest. Make sure to pick up the flyer highlighting the offices participating at the Welcome Tent, and submit your judging form online so you can be entered into the raffle to win a special prize.

Join Harborside Activities Board (HAB) for an afternoon of fun activities chosen by you to participate in for prizes while socializing with other peers. The minigame options are as follows: Skribbl.io, Kahoot, and City Guesser! Each winner will receive a HAB prize winner kit consisting of a T-Shirt, HAB bottle, and more! We will be tabling prior to the event in front of Harborwalk and giving out additional items that HAB has to offer in front of Harborwalk on June 29th from 12-2pm. The Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Wellness Center have collaborated to offer Safe Zone Ally Training. Safe Zone is USF St. Petersburg’s institutionally recognized LGBTQ diversity program that educates future leaders and our community on the issues relevant to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/transsexual, and queer/questioning peers by certifying supportive Allies to promote understanding and advocacy. This is an introductory training to LGTBQ+ language and issues and is not meant for those who have a more advanced level of knowledge about gender and sexuality.

Join the Orientation Leaders for this team-based scavenger hunt activity! You'll work together to decipher clues and explore campus, documenting your progress with photos along the way. When you arrive, you will be able to sign up as a team (max size 6) or as a free agent to be placed on a team. Don't be late! The hunt will commence right after we go over rules and break into teams. This event will take place rain or shine.
