Residential Experience

Move-In Information

Welcome to Living on Campus at USF St. Petersburg

We can't wait for you to join us on campus where it is the Best place to Live, the Best place to Work, and the Best place to Learn

What should I know about the move-in process?

  • Check your USF email address frequently as this is where HRE will communicate with you.
  • You must have your student ID to check in to your residence hall. Request your student ID several days prior to move-in. When you receive it, be sure to activate your student ID.
  • We recommend residents do not bring large furniture or other items that would limit a speedy move-in/move-out process. If you plan to bring furniture, please pre-assemble before arrival if possible.
  • We recommend bringing your own hand cart, dolly, and/or moving bags.
  • It’s typically hot and humid weather, so remember to hydrate.
  • Please break down all cardboard boxes and bring all trash to the dumpsters.
  • Read information below for more details.

Student ID Cards

Sample ID Card

You must request your USF ID Card online and your submission must be approved by USF Card Services, in order for your card to be ready when you move-in. Please follow the instructions of the ID Card Center to order and activate your USF ID Card.

Process:

  1. Complete the online ID card application on the USF Card Request Site.
  2. Submit a photo of yourself.
  3. Submit a photo of your driver's license or passport.
  4. Wait for the approval e-mail (this will come to your USF e-mail).
  5. Activate your card with the 16-digit code highlighted on the sample ID Card pictured above. You must activate your card in order for it to work.

Parking Information

Parking for Move-In Day

Please review Parking and Transportation Information prior to arrival. Parking regulations are in place and enforced on the USF St. Petersburg 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You may review our campus map to familiarize yourself with parking locations. Due to residence hall move in, Parking and Transportation will make the following exceptions:

  • Parking enforcement will be waived in Garage levels 2-5.
  • Please do not park in the unloading zones longer than 30 minutes.
  • Visitor parking in the garage and in Lot 2 are considered loading/unloading zones. Parking will be enforced for these spots.
  • Please do not park in any "Disabled Parking" space unless displaying a proper state-issued Disabled Parking placard, hangtag, or license plate.
  • Please do not park in Numbered, Reserved, State Vehicle or other Labeled parking spaces.
  • Please do not block traffic while moving in.
  • City streets will not be closed for move-in.
  • Please note that the city street parking is metered and requires payment to park and is enforced by the city of St. Petersburg. For reference, more information about parking downtown can be found on the City of St. Petersburg Parking website.

Resident Parking

  • Please make sure to purchase your parking permit through the Parking & Transportation Services portal. Parking permits are now virtual -- no physical permit is required after purchase.
  • Residential parking passes allow students to park on floors 5-7 of the parking garage.
