The honors college at USF St. Petersburg
On the St. Petersburg campus, the Judy Genshaft Honors College is housed in the historic Snell House, a Dutch Colonial mansion built in 1904 by St. Petersburg pioneer Perry Snell.
This unique location symbolizes the close relationship between the campus and thriving downtown St. Petersburg, where museums, tech and hospitality businesses, and concert venues are just a few walkable blocks away.

Admissions for the honors college
Students who possess curiosity, a love of learning, open minds, and a desire to be involved are encouraged to apply to join this warm and friendly community. Prospective students have the opportunity to join the Judy Genshaft Honors College as first time in college (FTIC) or upper-level (transfer/continuing) students by submitting the appropriate application.
Become a Gulf Scholar
Honors students on the St. Petersburg campus can take on real-world environmental and social challenges by becoming Gulf Scholar Change Agents through the Gulf Scholars Program. Drawing on the campus’s waterfront location and strong community partnerships, the program offers a two-year interdisciplinary experience focused on sustainability, leadership, and community engagement.
Each year, about 20 students from diverse majors are selected to complete Gulf-themed Honors coursework, participate in experiential learning, attend the Gulf Scholars Symposium, and create a public-facing Gulf Impact Project. Scholars receive up to $3,500 in financial assistance, including travel funding, project support, and a scholarship.
