Overview

The office of Student Outreach & Support (SOS) at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg campus, is a student-first direct care coordination team that assists students manage stress and reduce barriers that impact their academic success and overall health and wellness.

SOS works in partnership with Support, Outreach and Care Action Team (SOCAT). SOCAT is an interdisciplinary team concerned with the wellbeing of all students and is committed to creating an environment that is safe for learning and development. Together SOS and SOCAT collaborate to support students in need of support.


STUDENT OUTREACH AND SUPPORT

Provides direct care interventions

SOCAT

Rating, risk management, non-direct interventions to students who pose risk of danger to self or others


REFERRAL AND CONSULTATION
Review all referrals consults with departments as needed


CASE MANAGEMENT
Offer appointments to discuss needs, assess for safety, and develop an action plan for success


TRAINING AND PROGRAMING
SOS & SOCAT trains the campus community to identify and support students in distress, and where to refer students in need of support.
