Applicants must earn at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA at the time of hire.

Are information sessions required for the 2027-2028 Selection Process?

While information session attendance is not mandatory, we encourage all applicants interested in the role to attend at least one session. This would be a great opportunity to learn more about the role and ask any questions to current students and professional staff.

Is there a word/character limit to the application questions?

The maximum word count for each question is 250 words. We encourage candidates to type responses in a separate word document and paste them into the application to ensure there is minimal to no grammar/spelling issues.

What is the compensation for being an RA?

RAs receive an open access meal plan and assigned housing space in their respective buildings. The following are the room types for each building:

  • Osprey: 1 bed/1 bathroom suite
  • Ibis: 1 bed/1 bathroom suite
  • Pelican: 4 person single apartment*

Pelican RAs have the opportunity to select their roommates by an assigned deadline. Roommates must have an active housing application on file to be placed into the space. Any unfilled spaces in the apartment will be filled by residents who participate in room selection.

How will I know what building I am placed in?

You will receive your building placement at the time an offer is made. Building placement is at the discretion of the supervisor and the department needs.

Can I hold an internship or job while serving as a RA?

RAs can hold another job on or off campus, but it should not interfere with the responsibilities associated wit the RA role. RAs are eligible to work an additional job on campus and can work up to 9 hours. RAs should discuss with their supervisor about outside responsibilities to ensure completion of tasks and deadline.
