Fire Safety

Our fire safety services provide fire code education, safety awareness in the USF St. Petersburg community, compliance maintenance with the Florida State fire code, annual inspections, deficiency follow-up, and development and implementation of evacuation routes.

• Evacuation Drills
  • Building evacuation drills are conducted frequently to familiarize occupants with the safest routes of egress in case of a fire. The State Fire Marshal Office is responsible for the annual fire safety inspections of all USF facilities. The inspections comply with Florida Statute Chapter 633.0215 and the adopted Florida Fire Prevention Code. State Fire Marshal Home

• Training
  • Fire safety and fire extinguisher training is provided by the department at various times throughout the calendar year.  Please feel free to contact the office Safety and Compliance to request additional training be provided for your group.

  • Fire extinguishers on campus are monitored and maintained by the Fire Safety division of the USF Tampa Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S).
