Forward Gmail to Outlook

Office 365 Migration User Guide: Forwarding Gmail to Outlook

These steps will forward all email sent to your NetID@mail.usf.edu and NetID@usfsp.edu email addresses to your new USF NetID@usf.edu email address. This also forwards email sent to a shared USF St. Petersburg alias that you are a part of, for example department@usfsp.edu.

  1. Open Gmail in a web browser.
  2. Click on the Settings icon and then click Settings in Gmail.
  3. Select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP menu item.
  4. Click Add a Forwarding address.
  5. Enter your new USF email address (NetID@usf.edu). Replace NetID with your NetID username. Then click Next.
  6. Click Proceed.
  7. A confirmation code will be sent to your NetID@usf.edu email address. This may take a few minutes. Log into Office 365 and open Outlook on the web. When the email arrives, copy the verification code found in the email.
  8. Return to Gmail and paste the verification code and click Verify.
  9. Enable forwarding (if not already enabled) in Gmail. You can also select what happens to the emails you forward. You can also create filters to only forward certain emails. To do this, disable forwarding and then create filters based on how you want the emails forwarded.
