ST. PETERSBURG REGIONAL DATA CENTER (SPRDAC)

The St. Petersburg Regional Data Center (SPRDAC) is a university auxiliary that serves to generate financial reserves for hardware maintenance within the Office of Campus Computing. SPRDAC consists of three groups: systems, network support, and hardware repair.

SPRDAC is also responsible for the management, operation, and expansion of STPNet, the campus-wide network. STPNet provides access to vast amounts of information and media within the networks at USF St. Petersburg and from networks around the world. Based on Ethernet technology, STPNet operates at speeds of over one billion bits of data per second, providing the information-sharing infrastructure needed to support USF St. Petersburg in its achievement of institutional goals and its position as a major research institution.
