Starting in Spring
There are three required elements of Transfer Orientation:
- Pre-Orientation Course: Reserved students will gain access to a Canvas course of modules covering the basics
of life at our campus, to experience at your own pace. The Pre-Orientation Course must be completed one week prior to your Orientation Session, and will take roughly 3.5-5 hours. New students will receive an email once the Canvas
portion has opened.
- Academic Requirements & Course Registration: Within fifteen (15) business days of completing the Orientation reservation, the
office of Academic Advising will contact reserved students via e-mail and/or phone
to help schedule a pre-advising appointment to take place between November 29 and
December 17. Students who are unable to meet with their Academic Advisor prior to
their Orientation session will be expected to meet with an Academic Advisor 1 PM to
4 PM on the day of their Orientation session. Students should submit their completed
immunization documents to receive priority Academic Advising and Course Registration.
Students who are unable to meet with an academic advisor will be expected to meet
with their Academic Advisor the day of their Orientation session.
- Orientation Session: New students have the option of selecting an in-person or a virtual Orientation session. On the scheduled Orientation session date, they will join Orientation Leaders and other incoming students on campus or through Microsoft Teams Meetings. Through facilitated conversations, presentations from campus offices, and other activities, students will have the opportunity to ask questions, make connections, and prepare for the transition to USF.
