Starting in Spring
Welcome to USF’s St. Petersburg campus! Orientation is your opportunity to experience what it's like to be a USF student, both in and out of the classroom. Over your Orientation, you will interact with current Bulls, hear about USF resources, complete Academic Program Requirements, and learn ways to get involved on campus. The Orientation Team is here to help you navigate the university, answer your questions, and guide you through this transition.
Spring 2021 Orientation
Transfer Students admitted to USF for Spring 2021 will be required to reserve a spot in and complete a 3-part virtual Orientation Experience:
- Asynchronous Orientation in Canvas
Within three days of reserving their seat for Orientation, students will receive access to a Canvas course with asynchronous Orientation content. This course full of supplemental information can be completed at the student's own pace, but we ask that students make sure to have completed all requirements of it one week prior to their Live Synchronous Orientation session date.
- Academic Requirements and Information
Undergraduate Academic Advisors continue to support our new students with academic onboarding into their admitted program. Once a student has reserved their seat for Orientation, within fifteen (15) days they will receive an email from the Office of Academic Advising regarding the advising process; we ask that students please monitor their USF email. Students should be sure to follow the instructions provided, as these steps will allow them to register for classes and be prepared for the Live Synchronous Orientation.
Students who have submitted their completed immunization documents will receive priority Academic Advising and Course Registration. We recommend that students submit them immediately to allow for processing time.
- Live Synchronous Orientation Session
The Transfer Live Synchronous Orientation program is a half-day Orientation experience led by the USF St. Petersburg campus Orientation Leaders and staff. This program allows students to engage with their Orientation Group and receive important USF content that is best delivered in a small group or discussion-format.
The Live Synchronous Orientation Session will take place on their scheduled Orientation date in Microsoft Teams Meetings. In order to complete the Live Synchronous Orientation Program, students must have access to a computer, microphone, camera, and reliable internet conection.
Family and Guest Orientation Program
Families and guests of incoming USF students will be given the option to register for a supplemental Family and Guest Virtual Orientation Session. Like the student Orientation experience, the family and guest experience will include access to a Live Synchronous Orientation session and access to a list of supplemental content to be viewed at the guest’s own pace.
