First-Year Students

Families & Guests

College is not just a new journey for students, but for parents and families as well. USF's St. Petersburg campus offers a supplemental Family & Guest Orientation program that is designed to answer the myriad of questions surrounding a student’s first time in college. The success of your student is our top priority. We hope to engage all parents as partners in the process.

Family & Guest Orientation provides family members an introduction to campus resources and helpful information to support your student, as well as opportunities to ask questions and meet others.

We allow two guests per student. One to two parent(s), guardian(s), or other adult family member(s) may attend. Family & Guest Orientation is limited to these relationships to students. The Orientation program and atmosphere is not appropriate for siblings or other guests.

Your virtual Family & Guest Orientation will feature a few different ways to engage and to get the information you need to help your student succeed at USF:

  1. A library of presentations and resources covering the basics of life at USF's St. Petersburg campus, to experience at your own pace.
  2. A live virtual Orientation session from 6:00 PM to 8:15 PM (ET) on your student's scheduled Orientation session date. You can meet with campus departments and student Orientation Leaders in Microsoft Teams Meetings.
  3. Recordings of each of the live Orientation presentations will be available to family and guest registrants within one week of the live Orientation session.

Reservations are now open for Spring 2021. Family & Guest reservations are part of the student reservation.
