Overview
The process to becoming a personal trainer or group fitness instructor can be daunting and overwhelming. However, with commitment, time, and dedication to the process it will be a very rewarding experience. USF St. Pete is dedicated to helping you along this process and guiding you in the right direction.
There are several accredited certifications for personal training and group fitness. Each semester, we will take you through the American Council on Exercise Preparatory Course. You can choose to focus on personal training, group fitness OR both. This course will last 12-weeks and will include the following:
- In Person and Virtual PowerPoint classes focusing on:
- Scope of Practice
- Anatomy
- Physiology
- Functional Assessments
- Hands on experience with mock clients and demonstrations for classes
- Access to the ACE handbook, practice quizzes, and worksheets

Cost:
This class is currently offered to enrolled students and is free of cost.
Note:
Following the end of the course, students are responsible for signing up for the Exam and covering the costs of the certification accordingly.
