Dr. Helen Levine leads the University of South Florida St. Petersburg’s external affairs. She is a member of the Regional Chancellor’s Leadership Team and a member of the Internal Advisory Board of the Office of Corporate Partnership for USF.
Prior to joining USF St. Petersburg, Dr. Levine served three years as the Policy and Communications Advisor for USF President Judy Genshaft. Additional higher education administration experience includes the City University of New York (CUNY) Advancement Office, leading communications and public engagement for LaGuardia Community College in western Queens, NY, and positions at the Florida Board of Regents, and Florida State University.
Dr. Levine has more than 30 years of experience working in the public sector including leading comprehensive public affairs offices for Mayor Rick Baker and the City of St. Petersburg and the Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners.
Dr. Levine serves on several boards, including the St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership, Tampa Bay Businesses for Arts and Culture and Vision Florida. She served on the Florida Holocaust Museum Board of Directors, including the executive and governance committee, for more than ten years and now serves on their advisory board. Prior board experience includes Gulfcoast Jewish Family and Community Services board of directors, and the Downtown Waterfront Parks Foundation.
Dr. Levine is also a recipient of the Florida State University College of Social Work Educator of the Year.
Dr. Levine earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work, Master of Science in Higher Education, and a Ph.D. in Foundations of Education from Florida State University.
